About The Author :

Monia Chouari Jerfel is a Tunisian-American writer and scholar. She was born in Tunis, Tunisia, and grew up in a multilingual and multicultural environment, which inspired her passion for literature and the arts. She earned her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she specialized in North African and Middle Eastern literatures and cultures.

Jerfel's research and creative work focus on issues of identity, migration, and cultural hybridity. She has published numerous articles and book chapters on these topics, as well as two novels, "Unveiling the Self" and "The Starry Night of Montevideo". Her works have been translated into several languages, including English, French, Italian, and Arabic.

In addition to her writing, Jerfel is also a professor of French and Comparative Literature at Denison University in Ohio, where she teaches courses on literature, culture, and identity. She is an active member of various academic associations and regularly participates in international conferences and symposia.
