BOY AND GOING SOLO - ROALD DAHL

Boy and Going Solo brings together the two volumes of Roald Dahl's own autobiography in a single edition. In Boy, Dahl looks back on his childhood: his Norwegian family, boarding-school pranks such as the Great Mouse Plot against the fearsome shopkeeper Mrs Pratchett, and the sweet job of taste-testing new chocolate bars for Cadbury. Going Solo picks up the story as a young man, following Dahl to East Africa with the Shell Company and then into the cockpit of a Royal Air Force fighter plane during the Second World War, including the crash that nearly killed him and set him on the road to becoming a writer. Illustrated throughout by Quentin Blake, this Puffin paperback tells, in Dahl's own words, the true story behind the imagination of one of the world's best-loved authors.
