THE ELITE - Ranulph Fiennes

The Elite is Sir Ranulph Fiennes' sweeping history of special forces, tracing their lineage from the warrior elite of ancient Sparta to the modern units that fight the War on Terror. Drawing on his own experience as a former SAS officer, Fiennes examines the training, the selection, the legendary missions and the evolution of elite military units across centuries and continents, including the SAS, SBS, Navy SEALs and others. Part history, part first-hand account, the book explores what sets these soldiers apart and how special forces have shaped the outcome of key conflicts throughout history.
