Hidden Lies - Rachel Ryan

Hidden Lies is the debut psychological thriller by Irish author Rachel Ryan, published in January 2021 by Piatkus (Little, Brown Book Group), 288 pages. All children have imaginary friends - it's perfectly normal. But when Georgina's young son Cody starts talking about his 'New Granny', a mysterious friend he says he meets in the park, the words send a shiver down her spine: Georgina's own mother died only months earlier. Her husband Bren is convinced it's simply Cody's way of processing grief, but there is something about the way the boy describes his new friend that feels unsettlingly real. As Georgina is pulled deeper into unravelling the mystery, long-buried secrets about her family - and about her country's past - begin to surface. A Top Ten bestseller in Ireland, Hidden Lies has been praised by authors such as Liz Nugent, Erin Kelly and T.M. Logan for its tense, twist-filled plot and its emotionally resonant exploration of motherhood and grief. Recommended for fans of Lisa Jewell, Clare Mackintosh and Jane Corry.
